We are seeking a passionate Acting Tutor to deliver engaging Saturday classes (term time, 10am–4pm) at Carney Academy Sheffield, working with students aged 11 to adult and helping develop performance skills, confidence, and creativity in a supportive, professional environment.

Acting Tutor - Saturday Classes (Term Time Only)
Location: Sheffield
Hours: Saturdays, 10:00am-4:00pm
Rate: £125 per day

Carney Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Acting Tutor to join our team, delivering high-quality training to students aged 11 through to adults. This role involves teaching a range of classes across different age groups and ability levels, helping students build confidence, creativity, and strong acting technique in a supportive and inspiring environment. The successful candidate will also work closely with the School Principal to plan exciting and engaging lessons, while contributing to the development and production of showcases, performances, pantomimes, and summer schools throughout the year.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

- Experience in acting, performing arts, or drama teaching.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire young people and adults.
- Professional, reliable, and well-organised.
- A passion for developing talent and nurturing confidence.
- DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable:

- Industry experience in stage, screen, or related fields.
- Previous experience teaching mixed age groups.
- Relevant qualifications in acting or performing arts.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan and deliver engaging, structured acting classes tailored to different age groups.
- Teach core performance skills including voice, movement, improvisation, and script work.
- Adapt teaching methods to suit varying abilities and learning styles.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and professional classroom environment.
- Support students' personal development as well as performance ability.
- Contribute to rehearsals, showcases, and performances where required.
- Maintain high teaching standards in line with the academy's ethos.
