Job Summary

ArtEN is seeking a volunteer Gallery Assistant for a unique project this June. Partnering with a coalition of international cultural agencies, this is a hands-on opportunity to observe and support an exhibition where contemporary art meets cultural diplomacy.

Job Description

Throughout June, you will support our team on the gallery floor. This role is about learning by doing. Rather than requiring prior experience, we are offering a chance to see how an international exhibition operates from the inside.

You will help us welcome visitors, keep the gallery space running smoothly, and assist during events. In return, you will be in the room as gallery directors, cultural attach s, and collectors interact, giving you a front-row seat to the art world's inner workings.

A flat project stipend is provided to cover your daily travel and expenses. For the right person, this intensive period serves as a direct pipeline to continue working with ArtEN on future projects.

Job Requirements

Space Management: Help maintain the physical exhibition space to ensure a welcoming and professional environment for all visitors.

Guest Support: Assist the team in welcoming and directing guests, gaining exposure to visiting cultural attach s, international collectors, and VIPs.

Exhibition Information: Help communicate basic information about the exhibition's concepts to a highly diverse audience (guidance provided).

Event Assistance: Support the practical setup and operational execution of private previews and curatorial tours.

Operational Care: Handle day-to-day gallery operations with care, respecting the privacy and confidentiality of our guests and communications.

Job Responsibilities

Enthusiasm for contemporary art and an interest in learning about cultural soft power.

A friendly, adaptable communication style, with a willingness to learn how to navigate formal environments.

Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to exercise basic professional discretion.

Availability to commit to a minimum of three days per week (operating across a Tuesday-Saturday schedule) for the month of June. The exact rota will be coordinated collaboratively.
