Job Description
We are looking for a consultant with experience in:
Feasibility studies and options appraisal
Capital development and building adaptation projects
Arts, heritage, cultural or charitable organisations
Specialist creative production spaces and artist studios
The successful consultant will help us identify and assess potential future buildings for WYPW, undertake options appraisal work, support site visits and decision-making, and develop outline visuals and capital costings for a preferred option.
This work will play a key role in shaping WYPW's future direction and informing future funding applications, including engagement with Arts Council England and The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Job Requirements
Essential experience includes:
Proven experience delivering feasibility studies and capital development projects
Experience of building adaptation, refurbishment or redevelopment projects
Strong understanding of creative production environments and technical spatial requirements
Excellent report writing, analytical and project management skills
Experience working collaboratively with boards, staff teams and external stakeholders
Desirable:
Experience working with artist studios, workshops or printmaking facilities
Familiarity with Arts Council England and/or The National Lottery Heritage Fund processes
Experience working with architects, planners, estate agents and local authorities
Job Responsibilities
The consultant will:
Review existing project documentation with the Director and Board subgroup
Identify and research suitable building options
Organise and lead site visits with the WYPW team
Develop an options appraisal and scoring framework
Support selection of a preferred building option
Undertake or commission a condition survey of the preferred building
Produce visual material illustrating development potential
Prepare outline capital costings and a risk register
Produce a final feasibility report suitable for Board approval and future funding applications
