Job Summary

Part Time, 2 days per week, PAYE, Fixed Term, Edinburgh

Job Description

Arika are looking for a Communications Co-ordinator to join our team to support our continued work in Scotland and internationally. We have identified a need to add capacity around the communication of our ambitious programme and to build on the success of our ongoing communications with our audiences and identify areas of potential improvement. The role will work closely with our Programme team to deliver communications and marketing across all areas of Programme.

If you think that your gifts and skills align with what we are looking for and you have an affinity with our work, we'd love to hear from you.

DEADLINE

Deadline for applications is Monday 29th June, 9am.

HOURS

Part time, 15 hours per week generally worked over 2 days with occasional evening work and additional days to be taken as TOIL.

SALARY

£14,428 PAYE per annum (FTE £36,070). On a two day a week contract this is approximately £1,202 per month before deductions for pension, NI, tax.

LOCATION

Arika's office is based in central Edinburgh at 311 Cowgate. This role is offered on a hybrid or fully office based role with expectation that you'd work at project venues when required.

CONTRACT PERIOD

From around w/c 27th July 2026, or earlier if available, ending on 31st March 2028, with potential for extension, funding dependant.

Job Responsibilities

Arika has 3 strands of Programme: Episodes (every 2 years), Local Organising (several community events or projects per year) and International (1 or 2 projects every 2 years.) The majority of our communication takes place in the cycle of these projects, with space for planning and more general communications activity and archive work in between. We'd imagine, therefore, that within a 2 year cycle, the following areas of work would be attended to at some stage. Areas of work would include Planning & Strategy, Digital (Social Media, Newsletters and Development), Website, Archive, Design & Print, Partner Liaison, Communications, Branding, Press, Distribution, Ticketing, Outreach, Evaluation, Policy and Budget.
