Job Description
PQA, a leading provider of weekend performing arts training, is currently seeking a local filmmaker to join our team at PQA Selby. This role involves working with our students each Saturday during term time, from 10:00 am to 1:15 pm, devising and shooting short films that support and enhance their performing arts education.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable filmmaker who enjoys working with young people and is keen to share their expertise in a structured, performing arts setting. The position is paid at £25 per hour.
You will be leading filmmaking workshops with children from 6 - 18 years creating material that can ultimately be screened in a local cinema and shared online.
As our Film & TV Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and informative lessons that ignite the creativity and imagination of our students. Your expertise will guide them through the technical and artistic aspects of filmmaking, from scriptwriting and directing to cinematography and editing.
Your ability to share your industry insights and practical skills will be invaluable in preparing our students for the dynamic world of film and television. Whether you're a seasoned filmmaker or have a deep understanding of the production process, your enthusiasm and dedication will be instrumental in shaping the next generation of media professionals.

Job Requirements
A filmmaker or a degree or background in Filmmaking
A director/editor/teacher with experience of making short films or acting for screen.
Experience of working with children and young people.
All teachers will ideally have the below qualities:

Genuine passion for their subject and for teaching.
Punctuality and professionalism.
Job Responsibilities
You will be leading filmmaking workshops with children from 6 - 18 years creating material that can ultimately be screened in a local cinema and shared online. You will ideally have some experience working with children and young people and have a strong background making short films or television.
You will be required to plan and deliver engaging, fun lessons to 6-18 year olds, working on projects throughout the terms.
