Job Description
The Front-of-House Manager is the first point of contact for audience members attending any of WAF's public events. They will staff the ticket desk at the entrance of each venue for around an hour leading up to the start of each event, and also while the audience leaves at the end.
In the run-up to each event, the Front-of-House Manager will be responsible for admitting those with pre-booked tickets, selling tickets on the door, and managing a small team of FoH volunteers. At the end of each event, their responsibilities will include selling merchandise, selling CDs, and encouraging mailing list sign-ups.
The Front-of-House Manager will be required to keep careful financial records and manage different pots of money over the course of the festival. They will also be asked to take occasional photo and video content to post to WAF's instagram story over the course of the week.
REMUNERATION
The role will carry a fixed fee of £500.
This works out as £125 per day for three full days + two half days.

Wed 16 Sept: approx. 17:00 - 21:00
Thu 17 Sept: approx. 16:00 - 22:00
Fri 18 Sept: approx. 10:00 - 12:30 and 16:30 - 23:00
Sat 19 Sept: approx. 09:45 - 12:15 and 16:00 - 23:00
Sun 20 Sept: approx. 10:15 - 13:15 and 16:45 - 20:30
Job Requirements
We're looking for a Front-of-House manager who can radiate the vibe of warm, friendly, youthful energy for which WAF is becoming known. We hope to find someone with an interest in music and some experience of customer facing roles (e.g. in retail, hospitality, events, etc.). The Front-of-House Manager must have good inter-personal skills and be able to project a friendly demeanour and a welcoming atmosphere for audience members. Good skills with numbers and technology will also be very useful when it comes to handling the financial aspect of the role (inc. operating the card machine).
You must be available for the whole festival period of Wed 16 to Sun 20 September 2026.
You'll usually be expected to arrive 1 hour before each event's start time, and to stay until all audience have left after each event.
You will need your own means of transport between WAF's venues (e.g. a car!).
You will need a smartphone to provide hotspot WiFi for card reader and post photos/videos to Instagram.
Job Responsibilities
Tasks will include…
Greeting audience members as they arrive at the venue.
Checking off those who have pre-booked their tickets.
Selling tickets on the door, by both cash and card.
Distributing festival programmes & collecting donations.
Coordinating front-of-house volunteers (1 or 2 per event).
Keeping clear records of audience numbers, sorting & organising cash, etc.
Selling WAF merchandise & artist CDs (in intervals and after concerts).
Encouraging & collecting mailing list sign-ups.
Assisting (or coordinating assistance for) audience members with mobility issues.
Taking photos and short videos during the week and posting to the WAF Instagram story.
