Job Summary
Job Description
The Cultural Spring is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from individual creatives, organisations, musicians, theatre makers, dancers, digital artists, and multidisciplinary performers interested in creating small-scale touring work that is co-created with communities across Sunderland and South Tyneside. We are looking to support up to three commissions.
Each commission will receive:
£8,000 (inclusive of VAT, production, staging, travel, and expenses)
The Cultural Spring will cover venue hire, marketing and catering costs.
Each commission will deliver:
Three public performances, sharings, or pop-up events between December 2026 - March 2027.

Our aims are to:
1. Increase participation in arts and culture to those that are not currently engaged
2. Enable excellent art to happen
3. Create a lasting social and cultural legacy for Sunderland and South Tyneside
4. Reflect and share learning
Job Responsibilities
Bitesize can be theatre focused performances, script in-hand, music and/or film based
Bitesize is co-created with local people as genuine partners in the development of the work and the final sharing events/pop ups
Bitesize is about people coming together and sharing food themed to the commissions, giving time to meet and make new connections
Bitesize is hosted in local community venues
