Job Description

RASOI is a participatory arts and heritage project exploring South Asian food traditions, memory and cultural identity across Yorkshire and Humber. Bringing together artists, communities and heritage specialists, the project will co-create a recipe book where each recipe is accompanied by a personal story, poem, illustration or historical fragment. The final publication will exist in both print and digital formats, creating an accessible, multi-sensory archive celebrating South Asian heritage and preserving community voices for future generations.

Manasamitra Arts is seeking a proactive and organised Project Manager to coordinate the delivery of RASOI. Working closely with Supriya Nagarajan, Artistic Director of Manasamitra, the Project Manager will oversee project scheduling, budgets, communications, logistics and partnership coordination. The role combines creative collaboration with practical management, ensuring the project remains inclusive, responsive and effectively documented.

Key responsibilities include managing the project timeline and budget, coordinating artists, writers, illustrators, evaluators and community partners, and supporting inclusive workshops that enable participants to share recipes, memories and stories. The Project Manager will oversee the collection and documentation of creative contributions, support the development of the printed and digital recipe book, and work alongside production staff and freelancers to deliver community sessions and capture project outcomes.

The role will also support evaluation, reporting and reflective learning throughout the project, ensuring that participant experiences and community impact are captured. The Project Manager will contribute to the planning and delivery of a celebratory launch event as part of a literature festival programme.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing arts, heritage or community projects, with strong organisational, communication and administrative skills.

This hands-on role combines creative collaboration with practical management and is central to ensuring the project is inclusive, responsive, and well-documented.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all stages of the project, ensuring delivery against timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Coordinate artists, writers, illustrators, the Evaluation Consultant, and community partners.

Support inclusive workshops and participant engagement, facilitating contributions from diverse communities.

Manage documentation of recipes, stories, poems, and other creative outputs.

Work closely with Production Managerand other freelancers to deliver sessions in community venues and capture project outputs.

Support the production of the recipe book, ensuring both print and digital assets are accessible and of high quality.

Organise regular team meetings to review progress, monitor budgets, manage risks, and maintain strong communication across all stakeholders.

Ensure reporting and evaluation processes are embedded from the start, supporting learning and reflection alongside project delivery.

Contribute to the planning & delivery of the launch event
