Job Summary
Job Description
We are seeking a Freelance Consultant to lead the strategic thinking and inform the development of new creative careers initiatives.
The Royal Albert Hall Engagement team has a long history of running creative careers programmes, including Careers Insight Days, Event Management workshops, in-depth participatory schemes such as Young Producers and bespoke sessions for SEND schools. You will be building on this rich history, developing projects that sit within a cohesive programme of opportunities, with a clear pathway for young people to follow through.
Key to the success of these initiatives will be collaboration with local authorities, grassroots and community organisations who can provide insight into issues facing young people in our local communities, referral pathways and important wrap-around pastoral support.
These initiatives should be developed with young people facing health inequalities and from backgrounds that are underrepresented in the arts in mind (such as those who are NEET, from low-income families, care experienced young people and young people with physical and learning disabilities).
Fee: A maximum of £10,000 (based on the requirements of the proposed and agreed working process). Approx. 1 day a week across 5 month period.
Job Requirements
Demonstrable background in arts strategy.
Experience of planning and/or delivering creative, participatory skills development programmes with and for young people.
Ability to develop projects in collaboration with community partners and a range of stakeholders.
Knowledge of best practice when engaging young people within arts settings.
A passion and commitment to cultural inclusion and community engagement.
Enthusiastic collaborator and ability to clearly communicate with a range of stakeholders.
Understanding and commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and ability to reflect this in strategic thinking.
Understanding and commitment to safeguarding and adhering to RAH Safeguarding Policy.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct research on existing comparable models of creative careers delivery, including expected and actual outcomes.
Consider demographic targets to focus the delivery on and for this to be informed by current data relating to health inequalities.
Engage with key stakeholders, community leaders and local authority partners to inform the strategic planning.
Develop strategic recommendations for creative careers initiatives that are impactful, sustainable and appropriate to the Hall's context.
Include proposed methods of evaluation.
Consider how the delivery model may be achieved within budget, resource limitations of the Hall and what external resources would need to be provided.
