At Bamboozle Theatre Company, we create transformative experiences for learning disabled and autistic children and young people through immersive theatre, creative learning and family projects.
Our work creates spaces where children can feel heard, valued and included - often in ways they may not experience elsewhere. We believe those values should be reflected at every level of our organisation, including within our Board of Trustees.
We are now looking for new Trustees to join our welcoming and values-led board.
Alongside people with lived experience of disability, autism and caring responsibilities, we are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with experience in:
- HR and people management
- Capital, finance or business development
- Legal or governance work
You do not need previous trustee experience to apply. What matters most to us is that you:
- Care about inclusion, accessibility and the arts
- Want to help learning disabled and autistic young people thrive
- Bring thoughtful ideas, curiosity and compassion
- Are willing to contribute your skills and perspective to a collaborative board
Being a Trustee with Bamboozle means helping shape the future of an internationally recognised charity while joining a supportive, friendly board that meets four times a year, either in Leicester or online.

Job Requirements
Trustees must help Bamboozle to obey the law and meet its charitable aims. They act as ambassadors for Bamboozle, helping to advocate for the work we do.
Trustees meet 4 times per year, ideally in person in Leicester, with the ability to join meetings via online video calls as an option.
Trustees may also be asked to join additional 'mini-boards' to support an area of expertise such as finance, environmental or inclusivity.
We would expect no more than 15 days of support per year in total.

About Bamboozle Theatre Company
Too often in our society learning disabled children, and their families, are not heard; they are left out, made to feel that they don’t belong, let alone have their voices heard. Many of the children and young people we work with are unable to speak for themselves. They can’t express themselves in ways that most of us take for granted. But they do have things to say.
What we do at Bamboozle is to unlock the doors to enable them to find their own voice.
