Job Description

Bridge Youth Theatre is seeking a local / Bristol based Lighting Designer and Operator for our upcoming production of Newsies Jr.. This is an exciting opportunity to join the creative team for a fast-paced, one-hour production taking place at the Redgrave Theatre, Bristol in July.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the lighting design and operation of the production, ensuring a high-quality audio experience for both performers and audiences.

This role would suit a recent graduate or an individual with experience working at LX 3 level who is looking to take the next step in their career and gain experience leading a department.

The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive, and confident working in a live theatre environment, with a strong understanding of lighting systems and musical theatre production requirements.

The fee for this engagement is £700 based on a 6 day working week. There may be some online meetings with the Director and Production team prior to you attending the final run through.

Show Week: Tuesday 21 July - Saturday 25 July

Job Requirements

Proficient in lighting design
Strong working knowledge of lighting systems
Able to troubleshoot quickly under pressure during live performances.
Calm, professional, and collaborative in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable working independently.
Experience working with young people
Full clean UK driving licence desirable.

Job Responsibilities

Manage all lighting requirements for the production, including show operation and troubleshooting.
Programme and operate the lighting desk during performances.
Perform daily system checks before each performance.
Collaborate with stage management
Lead the lighting fit-up and get-out, including changes to the house rig.
