Job Summary

Could you be The Plough's next Operations Manager? We're looking for a dynamic, experienced & enthusiastic person to lead the operations & programme delivery team. This role includes preparation, delivery & aftercare for our varied events programme, & also overseeing building & equipment maintenance

Job Description

The post holder will need excellent IT skills, a good working knowledge of Spektrix with a willingness to train to fill any gaps, and the usual procedures for the smooth running of a venue offering film, live music, theatre, dance, art and community events throughout the year.

The usual working pattern will be 30 hours over four days (Weds to Sat) and will include some evening working too. The Plough offers a generous 33 days (pro rata) paid holiday, a contributary pension scheme and cash back health care scheme.

Job Requirements

Operations Manager
To ensure a welcoming front of house, accessible, and engaging experience for all visitors.
1. Operations Management - supported by Deputy Director & Director
a. Oversee the daily operations of The Plough arts centre, ensuring the building is clean, safe, & fully functional.
b. Putting in place the DM rota & overseeing training, acting as the Duty Manager to open up or lock up, or to let community groups in & out of The Plough Arts Centre building including security & access according to the rota.
c. In close liaison with the CEO, develop & implement operational policies & procedures.
d. In close liaison with the CEO, ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, licensing, & risk management requirements.
e. Coordinate maintenance, repairs, & supplier contracts
f. Lead the monthly Ops meeting
g. Prepare box office rota aligned with operational and event needs.

Job Responsibilities

2. Event Coordination
a. Working together with the tech & programming teams, plan, coordinate, & oversee all advancing & create LES sheets for events, including performances in the auditorium, community activities, & private hires.
b. Alongside the tech team act as the main point of contact for event organisers, artists, & external partners in the days leading up to the event.
c. Oversee event delivery on-site, troubleshooting issues in real
time.
d. Conduct post-event evaluations to improve future delivery.
e. Coordinating & managing delivery of film screenings &
communicating with film distributors.
3. Volunteers
a. Coordinate new volunteers, manage their induction including steward training.
b. Coordinate & run quarterly volunteer meeting with help from Administrator
Programme Support
a. Work closely with the programming team to support artistic delivery
b. Provide post-event feedback & analysis to programmers to inform future programming & marketing decisions
