Reports to: Senior Programme Leader

Salary: Scale Point 50 including planning and preparation ( £28.50 per hour including holiday pay / £48.42 per session)
We're looking for an inspiring and inclusive music leader to take the helm of our Northumbrian Folk Band as part of Make Music Adults at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music.
Celebrating the rich traditions of Northumbrian folk music, this performance-focused group brings together players of Northumbrian pipes, fiddle, guitar, flute, voice and other folk instruments. Designed for musicians who have progressed beyond beginner level, the band offers a supportive environment to develop skills, build confidence and perform together.
You'll lead weekly sessions on Wednesdays from 3-4.30pm during term time, helping participants grow musically while creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Working as part of our wider Make Music team, you'll contribute to session planning, artistic development and the continued growth of our folk pathway.
We're looking for someone with professional performance or band-leading experience, a passion for folk music, and experience working with adults from a range of backgrounds and abilities. You'll understand inclusive music-making, be confident adapting your approach to meet different needs, and be committed to helping participants achieve personal, social and musical outcomes.
