Job Summary
Job Description
Our shows were originally created approximately ten years ago, and
have had very limited costume support since, with most costume
work being delegated to admin/production staff.
We would like to work with someone who can help us improve our
costume and wardrobe arrangements which will improve the overall look of the shows.
We hope that most of this work will be flexible regarding the dates
you work, allowing you to fit it around other work commitments. We would hope to build a long-term, multi-year working relationship with the right person.
The guaranteed expected working hours (as required by ArtsJobs) are:
40 hours / 5 days over the summer, taking stock after the last season and familiarising yourself with our work.
80 hours / 10 days in autumn as we set up the Christmas season; and
40 hours / 5 days laundering and resetting for next year in the spring.
Our expectation is that it will be around 120 hours / 15 days per annum after that so the expected earnings are £2,640 per year based on the current rate.
This coming Christmas we will have 18 performers, making three
casts each of Cinderella (which needs re-costuming), Scroogical,
and Dick Whittington.
The dates this year are:
Cinderella - London:
Rehearsing Tues 10 to Tues 17 Nov
Performing Weds 18 Nov to Fri 18 Dec, plus some early January dates once schools are back
Three casts of two.
Dick Whittington - London:
Rehearsing Tue 10 to Tue 17 Nov
Performing Wed 18 Nov to Fri 18 Dec, plus some early January dates once schools are back
Three casts of two.
Scroogical - Manchester:
Rehearsing Thu 12 to Thu 19 Nov
Performing Fri 20 Nov to Fri 18 Dec. No January performances.
Three casts of two.
Start dates: ASAP
Fee: £22 p/hr paid on invoice
Location: Various to include WFH, our store in Kings Cross,
rehearsal space in central London and a space for fittings and
rehearsals in central Manchester.
