You will be an active member of the Technical team and play a pivotal role in bringing live events to life, supporting the delivery of all technical aspects of both our live program, hires and conference events. For this role it is key for you to have strong skills in two disciplines from Stage/Lighting/Sound. It is essential that you are a communicative, collaborative, positive and pro-active individual

In this multi-skilled technician role, you'll provide support for audio, lighting, stage management, and other technical services including AV specialising in at least one of these areas. You will also be key to liaising with student societies and realising the technical element of their shows in pre-production.

You will also assist with the timely maintenance of all equipment associated with the stage, auditorium and rehearsal/hire spaces and to assist with the inspection of all installations and equipment to ensure compliance with current legislation and licensing requirements.

Flexibility is key in the event industry, and you'll need to be prepared to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Please note a 5% availability allowance is included in the advertised salary scale

Job Requirements

Excellent knowledge of lighting, audio, stage management and technical services.
Professional experience in technical theatre, with proven skill in rigging, installing and operating lighting systems, including control systems with generic and intelligent fixtures, DMX networks, and three-phase electrical supply.
Experienced in audio systems, including replay and live mixing on analogue and digital desks, plus AV services and digital cine projection.
Able to fit up, operate and fault-find sound and lighting equipment.
Awareness of Health and Safety, including LOLER, PUWER, COSHH and Noise at Work.
Excellent people management and customer skills, with the ability to interpret and adapt plans.
Good IT skills, including AutoCAD.
Maintains a flexible, creative approach with artistic sensitivity, and a proven ability to work on own initiative to solve problems in venues.
Able to work long, unsocial hours, at height, in low light, with manual handling and trip hazards

Job Responsibilities

Technical Duties: Rig, operate, and install lighting and electrical systems, creating bespoke lighting rigs for Warwick Arts Centre users and events. Provide lighting, audio, stage management, and technical services; supervise and advise hirers; liaise with student societies and attend production meetings. Oversee casual/freelance crew, winches, and hemp lines safely, and manage cinema projection and maintenance.

Health & Safety: Adhere to health and safety legislation and licensing requirements for premises licensed for public entertainment. Ensure safe systems of work, equipment maintenance and storage, and assist with annual inspections, risk assessments, and asset records, reporting issues to the

Technical Manager.
Customer Experience: Support resident services (Estates, Cleaning, Catering); liaise with artists, visitors, and hirers; and act as an ambassador for Warwick Arts Centre, delivering excellent customer care at all times.
