Job Summary
Job Description
Corridor is seeking applications from a socially engaged artist based in the South East of England working with moving image and lens-based media for DAISY CHAIN, a new participatory
commission inspired by V ra Chytilov 's landmark experimental film Daisies (1966).
The commission is part of an international programme marking the 60th anniversary of Daisies, developed in partnership with Prague's National Film Museum (NaFilM). Daisies, with its anarchic humour and rejection of convention, is a landmark of the Czech New Wave. It is a kaleidoscope of visual and sonic experimentation, offering a rich source of conceptual, thematic and aesthetic inspiration. The selected artist will work collaboratively with a group of LGBTQIA+ young people
(aged 15-26) in Adur, West Sussex, to co-create new artworks across moving image and 2D/mixed media formats. The resulting artworks will be exhibited and screened across the UK and Czechia in 2027.
Artists will also participate in peer mentoring and knowledge-sharing sessions with the wider cohort of commissioned artists, supported by Corridor.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an ambitious international cultural project that values collaboration, experimentation and community participation, while developing new work for public presentation across multiple venues and audiences.
Artist fee: £4,200 (inclusive of VAT), plus travel paid in instalments.
There is an additional budget for materials for creative production, workshops and any exhibition outputs (e.g. print).
10am, 3 August: Deadline, applications
7 August: Shortlisted notified/invited for interview
12 August: Interviews (online)
DAISY CHAIN is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, with additional support from The Chalk Cliff Trust and NaFilM.
