Job Description
Rifco Theatre Company are inviting applications for LX2 for UK tour or Surinderella. The LX2 will assist in the maintenance and operation of lighting equipment as per the Lighting Designer and Lighting No.l's specification and will assist in maintaining an accurate and appropriate lighting design of the production as specified by the Lighting
Dates: 13 July to 31 October 2026 (starting at Belgrade Theatre, Coventry - not
required at rehearsals)
Fee: £650 per week
Touring Allowance: £300 per week / £50.16 per day
Holiday: Taken in the run (20 July - 2 August; 24 August - 2 September)
Contract type: Freelance, engaged on receipt of invoice, paid weekly one week in lieu
Job Requirements
Proven experience as an LX2, Lighting Technician or equivalent on
professional touring or large-scale theatre productions
Practical knowledge of rig rigging, focusing, and operation of professional
lighting systems
Experience operating lighting consoles in a live performance environment
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during get-ins and tech periods
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Flexible, reliable, and able to commit to the full tour schedule
Job Responsibilities
Operating the lighting rig during all performances as directed by the Lighting Designer and Head of Lighting
Assisting in the rigging, focusing, and maintenance of all lighting
equipment at each touring venue, in line with the lighting design
specification
Supporting the Head of Lighting during get-ins, fit-ups, technical
rehearsals, and get-outs
Maintaining an accurate and consistent realisation of the lighting design
throughout the tour as specified by the Lighting Designer
Carrying out regular maintenance and safety checks on all lighting
equipment
Assisting with the set-up and operation of any follow spots or practical
lighting as required
Completing venue advance work as directed by the Head of Lighting
Working in a safe and responsible manner at all times, in accordance with
relevant health and safety regulations
