Job Summary
Job Description
Into Opera is seeking talented, imaginative musicians to join our team as Musicians in Residence, working in Norwich and Norfolk based primary schools to deliver transformative creative experiences for children. This is valued, impactful work: you will help shape the cultural lives of young people who may have limited access to high quality music making, and your artistic voice will play a central role in their creative development.
Residencies range from short, focused placements (such as one day a week for five weeks) to longer term collaborations across a full term. Each residency is designed in partnership with the school and supported by Into Opera's artistic team.
Different schools have different needs, and we'll work collaboratively with our musicians to shape projects that best support each school's children, context and creative potential.
We welcome applications from:
Experienced musicians and educators who have a track record in delivering high quality, child centred musical experiences.
Early career professional musicians who are passionate about sharing their craft and excited to grow their educational practice.
We welcome artists rooted in opera and vocal storytelling, as well as those working across world music, western classical, jazz, folk, composition, sound design, music technology, choral leadership and instrumental performance.
An average day of work would most likely be 8 hours (7 hours delivery incorporating 2 x breaks, with 1 hour per day of planning embedded as well).

Positive, inspirational role model for primary aged children
Understanding of the primary music curriculum
