Job Summary

Are you an organised, collaborative and confident Production Manager who thrives on bringing ambitious live performances to life?

Job Description

Salary: £3,000

This is an exciting freelance opportunity to play a central role in the delivery of a large-scale senior school production, working with talented young performers, experienced teaching staff, in-house technical specialists and creative freelancers.

Working closely with the Theatre Technical Manager, you will lead on the planning, coordination and operational delivery of the production. This will include managing schedules, production meetings, documentation, logistics, budgets, contractor coordination, health and safety processes and the audience movement planning required for promenade theatre.

We are looking for someone with experience as a Production Manager, or in a comparable production leadership role within theatre, live events or the performing arts. You will bring excellent organisation, clear communication, strong attention to detail and the ability to coordinate multiple people and priorities calmly and professionally. Experience of promenade theatre, immersive performance or complex audience management would be a real advantage.

You will need to be available for the following key production dates:

Major rehearsals take place on Tuesday 24 November and Thursday 26 November. Technical rehearsals are scheduled for Saturday 28 November and Sunday 29 November, followed by the dress rehearsal on Tuesday 1 December. Performances take place on Wednesday 2, Thursday 3 and Friday 4 December, with get-out on Sunday 6 December.

Working hours:

We estimate that it would be a day a week of admin initially (e.g. 8 hours), but this could be spread across a working week. Closer to the show, there would be run throughs where they you need to be on site and do more on-site risk assessments and checks.

Sept - Oct: 8 hours per week

October (after the school fortnight half term): 16 hours per week

From mid November (15th or 16th tbc) to the end of the production (first week of December): 10 days across the final show lead up
