Job Summary

At Hodge Podge Arts we offer multidisciplinary workshops to asylum seeking children. We are looking for an array of skilled facilitators to join us on a one-off basis and share their expertise with our group!

Job Description

We are looking for:

Literally anyone who has an interesting skill, in which they are experienced in workshopping. Workshop experience is a necessity! Experience working with children is also an absolute necessity! Overall, we want someone who is equally as enthusiastic towards their craft and their facilitation. We have such a large participant demographic, keeping them engaged through exciting facilitation is a must.

Previous workshops include circus skills, shadow puppetry, football, painting, tote bag decorating, clay modelling.

We are specifically not interested in drama/theatre/storytelling/games/anything with clay unless it's a very particular specialized craft/puppetry unless it's very unique in delivery or specialized/pigment or paint making. Our current facilitator pool already has these wonderful skills - please do not apply if this is your speciality.

We are after someone to teach a new trained skill to our participants that we are unable to provide ourselves. Previous hires have included a rapper, a Bollywood/street dancer, circus performer.

This position covers:
A singular workshop in which you bring your chosen skill to the workshop and lead the session. We cover two half days of £115 each (£230 total) to cover prep/plan, and then the completion of the workshop.

We encourage those who are from asylum seeking backgrounds/are refugees to apply. Please also mention if you speak any additional languages.

Job Requirements

Being well rehearsed/well practiced in a skill.

- Being experienced and engaging as a workshop facilitator (especially working with children), already with an idea of what a typical workshop looks like.

- DBS

- Filling in our planning sheet prior to the workshop (it's not a big document!).
