Location: UK Tour
Start date: TBC Likely to be w/c Monday 17th August 2026, with potential earlier days by mutual agreement.
End Date: End of June 2027

Inspired by the iconic, terrifying film series, Paranormal Activity is a new story live on stage. Paranormal Activity is directed by Felix Barett, designed by Fly Davis, illusions by Chris Fisher, Lighting Design by Anna Watson, Sound Design by Gareth Fry and Video Design by Luke Halls.

Schedule:
Rehearsals (London) from w/c Monday 3rd August 2026
Fit-up from w/c Monday 31st August 2026
Technical rehearsals from Wednesday 2nd September 2026
First preview - Monday 7th September 2026
End of contract - end of June 2027

Purpose of Job:
The Head of Sound is responsible for all sound equipment, including maintenance for the production. The Head of Sound will operate sound for performances and manage the Sound No 2 who will run the backstage track.

Job Requirements

Proven experience as a Sound No 1 working on a similar scale production is required.

Strong organisational and communication skills.
Someone with the ability to work well on their own and as part of a team.
The ability to remain calm under pressure, with a flexible and proactive attitude and an
understanding of what is required to maintain a consistent high production standard.
A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
A full awareness of the need for integrity and confidentiality.

Job Responsibilities

1. Work closely with the Sound Design team to create the show mix throughout rehearsals, technical rehearsals and previews, and maintain sound quality throughout the run.
2. Operate the Sound desk for performances.
3. Attend the get-in and get-out as required, working with a Production Sound.
4. Take responsibility for the safe running and maintenance of all sound elements of the production. This production will have mic-ed actors.
5. Ensure all sound equipment is prepared for each performance, completing daily sound checks to confirm everything is in working order.
6. Keep sound reference sheets and cue sheets up to date.
7. Take responsibility for scheduling your own time and planning required maintenance.
8. Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure the smooth running of the show.
9. Attend production meetings, rehearsals, technical rehearsals, dress rehearsals and understudy rehearsals as required.
10. Take responsibility for show comms (hardwired and wire.)
