Box Office Manager
Fixed-Term Freelance Contract: July - November 2026
Contract Period (with flexibility by agreement)
Pre-Festival: July - 15 October 20262 days per week (8 hours per day)
Festival Period: 16 - 26 October 20268-10 hours per day includes weekends and evenings
Post-Festival: 27 October - 7 November 20263 days per week (8 hours per day)
Location: Wimbledon, London (limited hybrid working by agreement)Reports to: Festival DirectorFee: £23.50 per hour (invoiced monthly)
About the Role
Wimbledon BookFest is seeking an experienced Box Office Manager to oversee all aspects of ticketing and customer services during the lead-up to and delivery of the 2026 festival.
You will manage a small box office team, recruit and schedule temporary staff where required, ensure an outstanding customer experience across multiple venues, and make full use of Spektrix CRM to support ticket sales, audience development and reporting.

Job Requirements
* Excellent working knowledge of Spektrix CRM.
* Previous experience managing a box office for a theatre, arts organisation or festival.
* Strong customer service and communication skills.
* Experience supervising or managing staff and volunteers.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Confidence using Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure during busy on-sale periods and live events.
Desirable
* Experience of Dotdigital email marketing.
* Knowledge of arts festivals or live events.
* Experience managing memberships or loyalty schemes.
* Understanding of website ticketing integrations and customer journey optimisation.
* Experience producing sales analysis and audience insight reports.
Job Responsibilities
* Oversee ticket sales for festival performances, manage seating plans, ticket types, pricing and discounts within Spektrix.
* Manage ticket allocations, complimentary tickets, reservations, offers and promotional codes.
* Respond quickly to event changes, add new events, manage cancellations, postponements and seating amendments.
* Oversee online, telephone and in-person ticket sales.
* Recruit, train, manage and rota temporary box office staff and volunteers.
* Deliver consistently excellent customer service across all festival venues.
* Manage ticket scanning equipment and front-of-house ticketing systems during the festival.
* Troubleshoot Spektrix issues and act as the first point of contact for ticketing queries.
* Produce daily sales reports and reconcile ticket sales with the finance team
* Maintain accurate customer records and GDPR compliance
* Support the administration and promotion of Wimbledon BookFest membership schemes
*Liaise with marketing team mailing lists etc.
