Job Summary

Vache Baroque are holding open auditions for professional musicians who enjoy acting and education work, and who sing and play an instrument to an intermediate level or above for continued delivery of our educational workshop-show A History of Sound across Bucks, Slough and Brent.

Job Description

We're seeking to appoint a cast of 4 SATB performers with proficiency on at least 1 non-keyboard instrument to join the 2026 Autumn term tour of our flagship educational project. We have been touring this workshop-show since 2022, reaching over 3000 children and performing at over 35 primary schools to date!

Job Requirements

This is an exciting, professional opportunity for actor-musicians who are:
comfortable performing for and interacting with children
comfortable with ensemble performance and physical comedy
comfortable singing in close-harmony style
proficient on at least 1 musical instrument (excluding keyboard)
experienced as music teachers of any description (bonus)
experienced as non-musical performers (bonus)
licensed drivers with or without access to a car (bonus)

Job Responsibilities

A typical delivery day (paid at £230 + reasonable travel expenses) includes two performances of the c.90 minute show & workshop, working with groups of 26 - 40 Year 5 children at a time. The cast work as a self-sufficient team, arriving in good time to meet appropriate staff and set up the performance space, packing up instruments, props and costumes and transporting them to/from performance venues. Rehearsal
days are paid at the same rate. We ask that all cast members learn the script and musical extracts thoroughly prior to the start of the rehearsal period, for which no additional fee is payable.
