Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Head of Wardrobe for a new play premiering at Riverside Studios in Hammersmith. Featuring a cast of 6, the play is the first in a season of new plays produced and directed by American director Andy Sandberg at the venue.
Dates:
Rehearsals (at Riverside Studios): from 1st September, Head of Wardrobe to join W/C 14th September
Technical Rehearsals: 21st - 25th September
Previews: 26th September - 3rd October
Press Night: 5th October
Performances: 6th October - 21st November (possible extension to 28th November)
Salary
£800/week
Plus holiday pay, and overtime where applicable
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
A minimum of three years' experience in wardrobe on productions of a similar professional scale
Demonstrable experience working on new writing theatre productions
Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills
Strong costume maintenance, alteration and dressing skills
Experience working on productions with quick changes would be an advantage
Job Responsibilities
Supervising the day-to-day running of the wardrobe department throughout rehearsals and performances
Working closely with the Costume Designer, Costume Supervisor, Production Manager, Stage Management team and wider creative team to realise and maintain the costume design for the production
Managing costume plots, dressing tracks, laundry schedules and wardrobe paperwork
Overseeing the maintenance, cleaning, repair and alteration of all costumes throughout the run
Assisting with fittings, costume calls and technical rehearsals
Supporting quick changes and backstage costume operations during performances
Ensuring Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices are maintained within all wardrobe and backstage areas
Carrying out all other wardrobe duties associated with a production of this scale
