Job Summary
Job Description
The award winning Royal Museums Greenwich Events Team operate commercial events and filming, as well as some museum hosted events, across all four of RMG's museums. With over 100 events taking place every year, they are seeking some support in some of the day-to-day tasks to ensure this high performing team can keep delivering, year on year.
This volunteer role will exist to support the Commercial Events Team with administrative tasks, data management, documentation processes and operational event and filming delivery. This role will help improve internal systems, update and maintain internal record keeping and provide onsite support for the team.
Time Commitment:
- Ideally, we would like volunteers to support with administrative tasks between 10.00 - 16.00 for 1 or 2 weekdays, but event operations may take place outside these hours. Some volunteering could also be carried out over evenings and weekends, which will be discussed and agreed with you in advance.
- Volunteers are asked to commit to 3 months initially.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a brief, informal phone or teams call to find out more and ask any questions, ahead of an introductory taster day for the volunteer role.
Please note, we can only take on volunteers who are 18+. Successful applicants will be required to undergo a Basic DBS check.
Job Requirements
What we're looking for in you:

- Organisational and administrative skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office programmes
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to volunteer independently as well as in collaboration with others
Job Responsibilities
This opportunity will include:
- Working with different members of the Events team on a range of exciting events and filming activities
- Engaging with high profile companies and large scale, renowned productions
- Support behind the scenes on new and existing event types
- An insight behind the scenes of four truly iconic event venues within a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and supporting the team hosting extraordinary events within them
- Assisting at various stages of our events, including sales, planning and delivery
- Undertaking a project to organise the images used by the Events team
This opportunity offers you the chance to:
- Get hands on experience within a professional events team working across grade 1 listed venues
- Be introduced to event planning, health and safety requirements, supplier management, best practice and event delivery
- Gain experience working with CRM, data management and auditing systems
- Develop administrative, organisational and event coordination skills
