Job Summary
Job Description
Please note: This is a voluntary role, no specific hours or duties required.
Art Is Still Honest is a new creative project that celebrates a diverse range of grassroots and experimental creative practice across music, visual art, performance, and text. It is a banner under which several forms of such practice coincide: participatory arts research, the Difficult Art and Music label & small press, MEANS magazine, and the design house Loyalty Corps.
Having spent the last few months building our creative brand and ethos, we are now looking to expand the business. We have been building a network of artists and fans who support our work - whether it's collaborating on our magazine, buying our music, or purchasing our prints - but we are now looking to find new ways to grow. We have the practice, the portfolio and the product ready to go - we just need help getting that we do in front of the right audience.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about the arts - particularly contemporary, grassroots and experimental forms - to join us on our journey. Someone with knowledge of business, promotion, social media and funding streams, and who would benefit from having a hands-on role in the formative stage of a creative arts organization.
This is an internship / unpaid position, but we are happy to discuss how this role could be made permanent and paid as the business grows. Overall, we are looking for someone to collaborate with - someone who appreciates what we do, and might gain some mutual benefit by working with us.
This role will be part-time, with flexible hours (in terms of both when you work and the amount of commitment) to suit the right candidates availability. It will last a period of six-months, with the opportunity to extend the position (and move into a paid position if the business starts making money!) after that point.
Job Requirements
What we are looking for:
Someone who is enthusiastic about the work we do.
Someone with a background (or recent graduate) in arts business, promotion, or fundraising. Or even just a keen interest in that field!
Someone with an interest in arts research, and experimental practices.
Someone willing to share their ideas, critique ours, and contribute to our creative ecology.
Someone who understands social media and digital marketing.
Job Responsibilities
Please note: This is a voluntary role, no specific hours or duties required.
As such, we are not asking for someone to take on a specific task, or offer a specific skill. However, we are hoping we might find someone who can:
Help us run adverts to promote the business.
Help us to understand and apply for appropriate funding.
Network with other creatives to cement our position in the field.
Support us as the business grows, potentially even becoming part of our core creative team.
