Job Description

The Communications Officer develops and delivers communications campaigns across arebyte's exhibitions, public programme, creative workspaces and organisational activities. Working closely with the Senior team, artists and external collaborators, they plan campaign messaging, write engaging copy and manage arebyte's digital communications channels.
The role is responsible for producing content across social media, newsletters and the website, maintaining mailing lists, distributing invitations and announcements, and preparing digital content using existing photography, video and graphic assets.
The successful candidate will be an excellent writer with strong editorial judgement, experience delivering communications campaigns in the arts, and confidence using digital communications tools and creative software. They will enjoy working across multiple projects in a small, collaborative team and communicating contemporary artistic practice to a wide range of audiences.

Occupation Rate: 2 days per week, in-person
Working Pattern: 9:30-6pm
Start date: Late July / early August 2026 (TBC)

Job Requirements

- At least three years' experience in communications within the arts or cultural sector.
- Excellent copywriting and editorial skills, with the ability to produce engaging content across websites, newsletters, social media and other communications channels.
- Experience planning, delivering and evaluating communications campaigns across multiple digital platforms.
- Confidence using website content management systems, email marketing platforms and creative software (such as Squarespace, Mailchimp, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and basic video editing tools) to publish, manage and adapt digital content.

Job Responsibilities

Communications Planning: Develop and deliver communications campaigns for exhibitions, events, creative workspaces and wider organisational initiatives. Identify key messages and communication opportunities for each campaign.

Communications Delivery: Write, edit and publish content across social media, newsletters, the website and other communications channels. Manage and update arebyte's digital platforms, maintain mailing lists, and distribute newsletters, invitations and announcements, including press distribution lists.

Content Production: Prepare and adapt photography, video and graphic assets for digital communications. Source, organise and credit visual assets, and liaise with photographers and videographers where required.

Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor the performance of communications activity and contribute to the ongoing improvement of arebyte's digital communications.
