Job Description
The Evaluation & Impact Manager will lead the Scottish Chamber Orchestra's approach to evaluation, impact measurement and organisational learning. Working across the organisation, the postholder will gather, analyse and interpret qualitative and quantitative evidence to help the SCO understand, demonstrate and strengthen its impact.
The role will support strategic planning, programme development, fundraising and advocacy through the production of high-quality insight, reporting and evaluation. As part of the SCO's new Storytelling and Impact Function, the postholder will work closely with colleagues to ensure evidence and lived experience are captured and translated into compelling narratives for funders, policymakers, partners and audiences.
Job Requirements
Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to synthesise qualitative and quantitative evidence from multiple sources into
clear insights and impact narratives
Ability to design evaluation frameworks and collect, interpret and communicate
evidence effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and
presentation skills.
Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship-building and facilitation skills.
Excellent organisational and project management skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative
team.
Job Responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
Lead the development and delivery of the organisation's impact and evaluation framework, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and stakeholder requirements.
Design and oversee evaluation activity, using robust approaches to measure outcomes, impact and organisational learning.
Analyse data and translate findings into clear, evidence-based reports, presentations, case studies and impact materials.
Develop and maintain impact dashboards and performance reporting systems to support monitoring and decision-making.
Conduct and commission research to inform organisational development, audience insight, programme innovation and strategic planning.
Support colleagues to embed evidence-led approaches in programme design and delivery.
Share learning and research findings with internal and external audiences through reports, presentations, partnerships and sector networks.
Build and manage relationships with academic institutions, researchers, evaluators and external
