Music and the deaf is seeking new Trustees!

Job Description

Music and the Deaf is looking for individuals with a passion for inclusion and to play a role, as part of a board of trustees, to continue and develop the charity's work. Experience of the arts and education sectors would be an advantage. Candidates with marketing and/or charity fundraising backgrounds would also be especially welcome to apply.

Please note that this is a voluntary role and as such, there will be no payment, other than that specified by the Charity Commission as regards to reasonable expenses. As a volunteer, it will be an opportunity for you to develop experience of charity management and to make a difference to people's lives.

Job Responsibilities

Our trustees work collectively to:
- Make sure the charity keeps proper accounts
- Review the charity's financial performance.
- Draw up or review policies to ensure effective charity management.
- Ensure that the charity has robust and effective financial controls in place.
- Liaise with the Artistic Director if needed to support any developments which take place within the charity.
- Make joint decisions with the directors in relation to the charity and it's activities.

The successful candidate will be required to attend board meetings on a quarterly basis (either in person or remotely.)
