Job Summary
Job Description
The Fusion Ensemble comprises the most enthusiastic young instrumentalists from across our network of schools. Players come from a range of backgrounds and levels of experience and learn a diverse set of repertoire across the year, arranged specifically for each player to ensure that they can access the music and develop musically. The Fusion Ensemble rehearses on six Saturdays across the year in intensive rehearsals, as well as undertaking a weekend residential trip mid-year, and taking part in the end-of-year Ark Music Gala performance at the Barbican Centre.
Ark's Inspiring Excellence programme is designed to provide our most committed musicians with intensive musical training in ensemble music-making. Learning from a diverse team of Teaching Artists and each other, each ensemble explores a wide range of music and creative processes.
Teaching Artists are established music educators who bring a high level of artistry and well-developed educational practice and pedagogy. They have a deep understanding of the Ark Schools Music Programme and our approach to inclusive music making. Teaching Artists share Ark's belief that all pupils can be musicians regardless of their background and consistently deliver work of the highest quality, leading to excellent musical results.
