Job Summary
Job Description
The successful candidate will have relevant and transferrable experience as Deputy Stage Manager or equivalent on similar productions, and must have the right to live and work in the UK. The DSM will call the show and work with the wider Stage Management department to ensure the smooth running of the production.

Contract Type: Full-time, fixed-term
Dates of Employment: September 2026 until January 2027
Typical show schedule (subject to change: performances are 6 days per week either Monday - Saturday or Tuesday - Sunday depending on each venue's schedule
Salary: £900 per playing week, plus Touring Allowance and Travel Payments
Responsible To: Company Stage Manager, Stage Manager
Job Requirements
- Maintaining the Production as instructed by the Stage Manager and Company Stage Manager and as dictated by the artistic requirements of the Production;
- To learn the book and call the show at each performance of the Second Tour;
- To prepare any necessary paperwork including the prompt copy, setting lists and company schedules;
- To assist as required with the packing and get-out at each venue on the Second Tour as required;
- To assist with set & props maintenance;
- To ensure the safest possible working environment at all times, and that all Health and Safety procedure and practice is adhered to;
- To learn the CSM plot if required and to be able to provide internal cover as necessary;
- To assist with any necessary understudy rehearsals in liaison with the relevant creative team;
- Any other reasonable duty that would normally fall within the remit of a Deputy Stage Manager based on industry norms and practice.
Job Responsibilities
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent attention to detail;
- A proactive and flexible attitude;
- Previous experience of UK or international touring including re-cast processes;
- Strong understanding of rhythm and comedic timing;
- Previous experience as a Deputy Stage Manager on a West End or No 1 Touring musical;
- The ability to work well with actors and members of the creative team;
- The ability work well under pressure and effectively prioritise;
- Awareness of current health and safety legislation;
- Strong pastoral skills.
