Live & Local is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Community Engagement Officer to join our Rural Hub Towns programme. Working in the communities of Uttoxeter and Eckington, you'll help residents, community groups, volunteers and artists develop meaningful arts and cultural activities.

Live & Local is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Community Engagement Officer to join our Rural Hub Towns programme.
Working in the communities of Uttoxeter and Eckington, you'll help residents, community groups, volunteers and artists develop meaningful arts and cultural activities that strengthen local connections and increase participation in creativity.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines community engagement skills with project delivery experience and a passion for helping communities shape their own cultural futures.
Salary: £22,727.30 pro rata (£28,409 FTE)
Hours: 28 hours per week (1456 annualised hours)
Location: Home-based with regular travel across Uttoxeter and Eckington
Contract: Fixed term to 31 March 2028

Job Requirements

Minimum of two years professional
experience working in similar or related
environments, i.e. place based arts
Experience of developing and implementing
community-led approaches to creativity.
Experience of project management.
Experience of producing and delivering arts
events
Experience of commissioning artists
Planning and managing own workload.
Excellent telephone manner.
Good people skills and friendly personality.
Running effective meetings.
Clear confident written & verbal
communication skills
Able to assimilate information quickly and
effectively.
Confident and competent IT user.
Prepared to work occasional unsociable
hours (evening / weekend).
Ability to work remotely and independently
Current driving licence and access to a car.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and strengthen relationships with local residents, organisations and community groups.
Support existing and emerging community groups to create, plan and deliver arts projects.
Facilitate meetings, networking opportunities and community consultations.
Plan and deliver events alongside communities and project partners.
Recruit, encourage and support volunteers and participants.
Help groups develop project plans, budgets and funding opportunities.
Work with local artists and freelancers to deliver community-led creative activity.
Monitor project progress and gather evaluation data for funders.
Support audience development and community participation
