Salary: £27,091 for 4 days per week (30 hours), generally worked between Monday to Friday. Time off in lieu available when out-of-hours working required.
As part of a small, close-knit team, you will work with innovative artists from around the globe, commissioning and producing ambitious and groundbreaking work for the people of Ipswich, Suffolk and further afield.
You will be part of an ongoing strategic shift that sees SPILL moving away from biennial festival cycles to annual programmes of activity which provide more regular and consistent engagement opportunities. We are incredibly excited about this new direction and the Marketing & Communications Manager will be a key figure in helping us communicate this new version of SPILL to the world.
The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for growing and developing SPILL's audiences across all communications channels, including digital, press and print. They are responsible for both strategy and day-to-day marketing and communications tasks, drafting and designing SPILL's marketing materials and public communications across print, ambient and digital (including social media). Management of box office activities is also a key part of the role. The Marketing & Communications Manager leads on the growth and development of SPILL's audiences and the maximising of ticket and merchandise sales. They make a significant contribution to fundraising, helping to attract sponsorship and donations through public and corporate-facing communications. They are crucial to SPILL's participatory projects, ensuring opportunities are shared widely and are accessible by relevant groups and communities.
Job Requirements
We are looking for a friendly, proactive, and meticulous colleague who is equally comfortable working independently and as an essential part of a dynamic team to deliver our strategic marketing campaigns and organisational communications across the breadth of SPILL's activities. This includes artist development initiatives and year-round events and activities, both in our intimate Think Tank venue, partner venues and found spaces in Ipswich and beyond.
The selected candidate will make a significant contribution to SPILL, working closely with leadership, key consultants (including PR and Audiences) and SPILL's project producers to grow and develop SPILL's audiences, attract new participants, support fundraising and maximise sales.
They will have an in-depth understanding of SPILL's audience development strategies, box office software, brand guidelines and social impact objectives and will apply these to their day-to-day tasks with care and rigour.
