Job Summary
Job Description
At New Brewery Arts, we believe creativity has the power to change lives. Every year thousands of people learn new skills, discover confidence and become part of our creative community through our programme of courses and workshops. We're looking for a Participation Manager who can lead that programme into its next chapter, developing exciting new opportunities, building great relationships with tutors, using data and audience insight to drive commercial success, and ensuring every participant has an outstanding experience. You'll be equally comfortable analysing booking trends, planning the next season's programme and supporting your team to deliver it brilliantly.
We're a small, ambitious charity, so this is a hands-on leadership role. You'll be part of our Senior Management Team, working closely with the CEO and colleagues across the organisation to make great ideas happen. We don't believe in silos, everyone pitches in when needed, whether that's welcoming visitors, supporting events or helping colleagues deliver our charitable work. If you're proactive, commercially aware, organised and passionate about the value of creativity, we'd love to hear from you.
Job Requirements
Experience of planning and managing arts, education or cultural programmes, with the ability to balance creative ambition with commercial performance. Strong organisational, leadership and communication skills, with experience of managing people and building positive relationships with tutors, participants and partners. Confident using data and financial information to inform decisions and improve performance. Able to work strategically while remaining practical and hands-on, managing multiple priorities in a busy environment. Passionate about widening participation in the arts and committed to delivering an excellent customer experience. A collaborative, proactive and solution-focused approach, with excellent attention to detail and the confidence to take ownership and make informed decisions.
Job Responsibilities
Lead the planning, delivery and performance of New Brewery Arts' participation programme, ensuring it is creatively ambitious, financially sustainable and audience-focused. Manage programme planning, tutor relationships, participant experience and the participation team. Use data, audience insight and financial performance to shape and continually improve the programme. Monitor budgets, occupancy, income and customer satisfaction, making informed decisions to maximise impact and commercial performance. Work collaboratively across the organisation to support marketing, fundraising and charitable activities, recognising that as a small, hands-on team we all contribute to the successful delivery of New Brewery Arts' mission.
