Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sound No.1 to lead the sound department from get-in and tech at Salisbury through to the end of the tour, delivering the Sound Designer's vision to the highest standard at every venue.

Job Description

- Act as No.1 sound operator for the production from get-in/tech at Salisbury through to the final performance of the tour.
- Live mix the show at every performance, including radio mic tracking and show comms.
- Provide support to the Sound Designer during the technical and dress rehearsals at Salisbury.
- Liaise closely with the production sound engineer during get-in and tech at Salisbury to learn and fully understand the sound system, so as to support the show independently at each subsequent venue.
- Carry out a daily sound check to ensure all equipment is maintained and in safe working order.
- Maintain and troubleshoot sound equipment throughout the tour, dealing with emergency repairs as required.
- Keep sound reference and cue sheets, maintenance logs and other running paperwork up to date.
- Work with and direct the Sound No. 2 and/or local venue sound crew, ensuring the safe operation of all sound equipment.
- Liaise closely with the Stage Management team, performers, Production Department and venue technical staff.
- Provide support for access performances, including audio-described and relaxed performances, where applicable.
- Ensure the artistic integrity of the sound design is maintained consistently throughout the run.
- Adhere to all health and safety requirements and codes of practice, reporting any concerns to the Production Manager.
Carry out all other duties normally associated with the role of Sound No.1 on a first-class touring production.
