Job Description
MRMW and Worcester City Council have been awarded Delivery Phase funding by The National Lottery Heritage Fund for our project, The Worcestershire Soldier at the Commandery, working in partnership with the Worcestershire Yeomanry Museum. The project will create four new galleries telling the story of The Worcestershire Soldier at The Commandery in Worcester and make a step change in audience engagement with the county's regimental collections through an exciting Activity Plan.
A Project Manager is required to support the project in its Delivery Phase. Working directly to the MRMW Curator, the consultant will ensure The Worcestershire Soldier project delivers on its objectives (Approved Purposes).
Delivery timescale: August 2026 - April 2030 (44 months)
Fee: £93,600 inclusive of VAT and disbursements
This is a freelance position, and applicants are free to tell us how many hours they can dedicate to the project based on the maximum fee for the commission and the project timetable.

Job Requirements
We expect our Project Manager to demonstrate:
A good track record of managing projects in a heritage context, including capital projects
Good knowledge of The National Lottery Heritage Fund's funding arrangements, and preferably experience of managing projects funded by same
Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams
Ability to work collaboratively to achieve results
Ability to build effective relationships with staff, contractors, partners and stakeholders
Effective cash flow, budget and resource allocation
Well-developed risk management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A commitment to inclusion and access
A commitment to sustainable working methods with consideration to minimise environmental impact
Computer literacy.
Job Responsibilities
The Project Manager will support the achievement of the Delivery Phase outcomes (the 'Approved Purposes) specified in our notification of grant funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The Project Manager will support the project to deliver on time and in budget.
The Project Manager will maximise the benefits of the project for organisational sustainability for the Mercian Regiment Museum (Worcestershire), Worcester City Council and their partner The Worcestershire Yeomanry Museum.
The Project Manager will maximise the impact of the project in delivering the Investment Principles of The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
