Job Description
Dance&Arts is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Musical Theatre Afterschool Club Teacher to lead a weekly afterschool club at a primary school in Nottingham (NG3) during the Autumn Term.
The club runs every Thursday from 3:15pm to 4:15pm, from 17 September to 10 December, and is for children in Years 3-4 (ages 8-9). Pay is £27 per hour.
You'll deliver engaging and inclusive musical theatre sessions that combine singing, acting, movement, and performance. Teachers are encouraged to bring their own creativity while helping children develop confidence, communication skills, teamwork, and stage presence in a fun and supportive environment.
Job Requirements
Experience teaching musical theatre, drama, singing, dance, or performing arts to children.
A passion for inspiring young people through the performing arts.
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Ability to plan engaging, creative, and age-appropriate sessions.
Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to the full Autumn Term.
Enhanced DBS certificate (essential).
Right to work in the UK.
Previous experience teaching in primary schools or delivering children's workshops is desirable.
Job Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging weekly musical theatre sessions for children aged 8-9.
Teach age-appropriate singing, acting, movement, and performance skills.
Create a fun, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where every child feels encouraged to participate.
Develop children's confidence, creativity, communication, and teamwork through performing arts activities.
Rehearse short scenes, songs, and routines, with the opportunity to prepare a simple end-of-term performance where appropriate.
Adapt activities to suit different abilities and learning styles.
Maintain high standards of behaviour management, safeguarding, and health and safety.
Communicate professionally with Dance&Arts and school staff, ensuring sessions run smoothly.
