Job Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
Part-qualified accountant or equivalent demonstrable experience in the entertainment or charity sector.
At least 3 years of experience working with accounting software and the preparation of management accounts.
Software Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems.
Working knowledge of purchase ledgers, sales ledgers, and credit control functions.
Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Willingness to work outside normal operating hours if required.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience working with Sage Intacct and/or Spektrix systems.
An interest in or experience working within the not-for-profit sector.
Working knowledge of restricted fund accounting.
An understanding of live venue operations, ticketing systems, and sector-specific tax regulations like Theatre Tax Relief (TTR).
Job Responsibilities
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting & Controls
Management Accounts: Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and variance analysis for Finance Director review.
Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
Cash Management: Monitor cash balances regularly and supervise the Finance Officer in bank reconciliations.
Disbursements: Oversee petty cash allocations and staff expense claims.
Revenue & Operational Accounting
Show Settlements: Calculate and process show contra settlements, ensuring accurate profit shares for producers, artists, and general managers.
Box Office Income: Work closely with the box office team and ticketing systems to reconcile sales and deferred income.
Income Recognition: Collaborate with the Finance Officer to ensure correct income recognition.
Budgeting: Partner with department heads to monitor budgets and update forecasts.
