Main responsibilities include:
Supervise young people in the cast during rehearsals, performances and supervised breaks ensuring their health, safety and wellbeing whilst in the theatre and during performances.
Ensure that children are working within the guidelines of The Children's (Performance) Act 1968.
Ensure that the young people feel safe, looked after and are able to enjoy taking part.
Completion of daily records of each child's time at the place of performance.
Liaise with children's families to pass on changes to the schedule or any concerns.
Use of closed chaperone account to share rehearsal footage with young people and their families.
Work with the Deputy Safeguarding Lead and report any concerning behaviour, escalating concerns to the appropriate person(s).
Be the voice of the young people amongst production pressures.
To be flexible as to the requirements of the role.
Be positive, approachable and professional at all times.
Set high expectations of behaviour alongside nurturing a supportive, inclusive atmosphere.

This is a fixed-term contract running from Monday 26 October - Sunday 17 January 2027.

We are open to applications from those interested in the complete run, job share or part-time hours. The rehearsal weeks average 15 - 20 hours per week. The performance weeks average 35 hours per week. Please see website for the schedule and state your availability on the application form.

Pay: £14.70 per hour for rehearsals, £58.80 per show. Sunday performances are paid at £117.60 per show.
