Job Summary

ROYO is looking for an Associate Producer to work across its upcoming productions and development slate.

Job Description

The Associate Producer will be responsible for acquiring, commissioning and developing new work produced or co-produced by ROYO. They will work closely with the Creative Director to progress, artistically and administratively, new work on the existing slate and to seek out new opportunities. The role will work with artists, agents and IP holders to take projects from a first idea to being in rehearsal.

Job Requirements

- Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in a theatrical production role.
- Substantial experience and understanding of developing artists and new work, including IP acquisition and commissioning.
- A good understanding and experience of working with, supporting and managing creative teams at all stages of development and production.
- Experience and confidence in negotiating deals with third parties.
- Experience in writing budgets for West End and touring productions.
- A high degree of understanding of sector wide collective agreements.
- Active and engaged knowledge of the UK theatre ecosystem.
- Excellent verbal and written skills and experience in writing notes and giving feedback.
- Outgoing, confident, sociable, and with a willingness to work independently, including being able to take meetings with artists on their own.
- Highly organised, efficient and collaborative.
- A high degree of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and computing skills.

Job Responsibilities

General:
- Managing ROYO's slate of new work at all stages of development, designing and executing a suitable strategy for each project.
- Managing key stakeholders in each project, including artists, agents and IP holders.
- Working with the Creative Director to curate new ideas and identify new opportunities.

Literary Management:
- Identify and develop emerging creative talent including through attending readings, workshops and productions.
- Lead on the development of prospective commissions.
- Managing the commissioning process - negotiating with agents and representatives.
- Managing the receipt of new and submitted material.

IP Management:
- Building and maintaining good relationships with IP holders in all media.

Casting:
- Developing relationships with agents and managers to find talent to lead productions in development.
- Maintaining a knowledge of talent looking for theatre projects.
