Job Summary
Job Description
You'll lead small-group sessions for KS1 and KS2 learners with SEND and SEMH needs, using drama, craft, role-play, sensory exploration and culinary arts to support their social and emotional development, within a youth-centred, trauma-informed framework where children help shape their own sessions.
Job Requirements
ESSENTIAL
A background, training or qualification in a creative field (performing arts, art, music, drama or sports coaching); minimum two years' experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults; strong rapport-building and empathy skills; reliability and teamwork; willingness to obtain/hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service; safeguarding awareness.
DESIREABLE
Experience planning and running structured creative or therapeutic play sessions; experience supporting autism (ASC), ADHD, emotional regulation difficulties or behavioural disengagement.
Job Responsibilities
Lead and deliver sessions using the Unique Voice scheme; create a safe, inclusive environment with consistent behaviour management; follow safeguarding, GDPR and health & safety procedures; support transitions, breaks and food distribution; contribute to programme evaluation.
