Job Summary

We are looking for a highly organised, enthusiastic and motivated person to join our team and support the day-to-day running of the organisation, while playing a key role in welcoming visitors to the building.

Job Description

Working closely with the General Manager, the Operations Coordinator helps ensure that our building is welcoming, accessible and well-maintained. You will coordinate day-to-day operational and administrative management, ensuring the smooth running of the charity. You will also supervise and help lead the Visitor and Retail Assistants and temporary events staff to ensure a high level of visitor experience, and assist the wider organisation with programme-related and commercial hire events.

This position would suit someone looking to start or develop a career in arts administration and the wider creative industries.

Duration: 1 year (fixed-term contract) with the opportunity to renew based on performance

Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days per week, (10.30 am-6.30 pm) working Tuesday-Friday and Sundays

Salary: £31,500 per annum

An interest in contemporary art and community engagement

Strong organisational skills

Supervise visitor-facing areas with confidence and an eye for detail, overseeing assistants in delivering the organisation's day-to-day activities and liaising with building stakeholders to support concurrent use of our vibrant building and important cultural resource

Be the day-to-day contact for our Community Spaces programme and fielding tour enquiries and bookings to the Programme team

Coordinate setting up and closing exhibitions and displays each day, providing security checks and reporting any material changes or concerns

Ensure that our building, including public spaces, on-site studios and resources, is safe and well-presented at all times. Coordinating and overseeing building maintenance, contracts and utilities

Support Health & Safety within the organisation by maintaining compliance records and operations manuals, circulating policies and procedures to staff and service users
