Job Description
We are looking for a collaborative and proactive Technician to join our Production & Technical Team. Working closely with Production, Event Delivery and Operations, you'll support the delivery of performances, commercial hires and events, while working alongside casual technicians and freelance technical crew.
You'll work across Lighting, Sound, Stage and Audio Visual, providing high-quality technical support to artists, visiting companies and community groups. As part of the team at the world's first Relaxed Venue, you'll help create welcoming, accessible and inclusive experiences for everyone who uses our building.

We can provide a BSL interpreter if required.
Job Requirements
Training or equivalent industry experience in technical theatre.
Experience working within a theatre, arts, events or live performance environment.
Experience programming ETC Lighting Desks (for Lighting roles).
Experience programming Yamaha Desks (for Sound roles).
Experience working directly with artists, clients, visiting companies or creative teams.
Experience and willingness to work at height.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good organisational skills with excellent time management.
Ability to prioritise workload and manage competing demands.
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and overnight as needed.
Good working knowledge of modern theatre operation and lighting or sound.
Good working knowledge of at least one technical discipline, including Lighting, Sound, Stage or Audio Visual.
Job Responsibilities
Work as a skilled technician, fulfilling the expectations of your discipline (Lighting, Sound, Stage, or Audio Visual) while having a collaborative approach and providing help across all departments when needed.
Work as Duty Technician, as assigned by the weekly rota, being available on radio as the technician on call for all BAC or incoming events and productions, for the whole shift (Duty Technician training will be provided).
Rig, programme, operate and strike technical equipment for productions, events and commercial hires as required.
Support the delivery of artistic programming, festivals, conferences, weddings, filming, community activity and commercial events across BAC's spaces.
Proactively plan and deliver technical setups for productions and events, ensuring efficient use of time, equipment and resources.
Proactively ensure that the performance spaces, technical storage and work areas of the building are kept in a safe, tidy, and presentable condition at all times.
