Job Description
The CRM Manager will lead the strategic development, optimisation and ownership of our Salesforce-based CRM system, ensuring it supports the charity's business strategy, operational priorities and charitable objectives.
As Product Owner for Salesforce, the postholder will develop and deliver the CRM roadmap, balancing organisational priorities, user needs and technical opportunities to ensure the platform continues to evolve. Working collaboratively across the organisation, they will identify opportunities to improve processes, solve operational challenges, increase automation and maximise the value of the CRM.
The successful candidate will champion continuous improvement, confidently challenging existing ways of working, introducing new ideas and supporting colleagues to embrace change. They will ensure the CRM effectively supports programme delivery, stakeholder engagement, communications, monitoring and evaluation, while maintaining high standards of data quality, governance and user experience.
Following the implementation of Salesforce, the CRM Manager will play a key role in embedding and developing the system across the organisation. This includes leading user adoption, onboarding and training, refining business processes, and ensuring the platform remains scalable as the charity continues to grow.
The role will also maintain oversight of wider digital systems and IT development, ensuring CRM integrations and related technologies are aligned, efficient and future-ready.
Key objectives of the CRM system
Enable efficient and scalable delivery of national programmes, partnerships and events.
Strengthen stakeholder and partner relationship management.
Improve data quality, accessibility and governance.
Support robust reporting, monitoring and impact evaluation.
Automate core processes to reduce administration and improve efficiency.
Promote user adoption through effective training, support and continuous improvement.
Job Requirements
Salesforce Administrator Certification (or equivalent experience).
At least 3 years' experience managing CRM systems, ideally Salesforce.
Ability to translate organisational needs into effective CRM solutions.
Proven track record of driving continuous improvement and managing change.
Proactive, analytical and solutions-focused approach.
Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation and influencing skills.
Experience in CRM administration, data management, reporting, imports and exports.
Experience delivering user training, onboarding and documentation.
Excellent project management, organisational and communication skills.
High attention to detail.
Desirable
Experience managing Salesforce implementation or support partners.
Knowledge of FormAssembly, Campaign Monitor and other third-party integrations.
Understanding of systems integration, digital architecture and process mapping.
Experience within the charity, education or membership sectors.
Job Responsibilities
Lead the strategic development, administration and continuous improvement of the Salesforce CRM, ensuring it meets organisational needs.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, automate workflows and improve user experience.
Gather business requirements and translate them into scalable CRM solutions.
Champion user adoption through training, onboarding, documentation and ongoing support for staff and partners.
Manage CRM integrations, FormAssembly, The Exchange portal and relationships with external Salesforce partners.
Develop dashboards, reports and data views to support programme delivery, fundraising, evaluation and decision-making.
Ensure data quality, GDPR compliance, data retention and effective data management.
Deliver CRM enhancements and integrations that support the organisation's wider digital strategy.
Provide CRM-related systems support and contribute to IT planning, supplier management and digital risk alongside the Head of Operations.

With over 90 Clubs nationally, the programme is currently offered across seven dynamic subjects: Art&Design, Craft&Making, Fashion&Business, Film&Media, Performance&Theatre, Science&Engineering, Society&Change and Writing&Talking.
