The Barbican is seeking to appoint an experienced Community Engagement Consultant to prepare a Community Engagement Strategy and Community Engagement Delivery Plan as part of the development phase of the Barbican Sculpture Court Revived project. These plans will inform the project's overall Activity Plan which will form part of our National Lottery Heritage Fund delivery phase funding application, which is anticipated to be submitted in August 2027.

The consultant will work with Barbican staff across various departments, including Buildings and Renewal; Arts and Participation; Audience Experience; Comms & Engagement; People, Inclusion and Culture; Communications; and Development, as well as with other consultants to be appointed for the development phase, including Activity Plan consultant, Evaluation consultant, Interpretation consultant, and Archive Strategy consultant.

The plan should align with Heritage Fund guidance, Investment Principles and the approved purposes of the Barbican Sculpture Court Revived project, as well as the Barbican's purpose and values.
