Job Description

Working closely with the Music Performance team, you will help coordinate the day-to-day delivery of this ambitious programme of concerts, rehearsals, workshops, and other performance activity. You will act as a key operational point of contact for students, staff, visiting artists, and external suppliers, helping to anticipate requirements and ensure that activities are delivered smoothly, safely, and to a high professional standard.

The role will provide practical, technical, and operational support for concerts, recitals, rehearsals, and workshops. This will include preparing performance and rehearsal spaces; setting up and moving instruments, equipment, staging, and PA systems; supporting front-of-house operations and coordinating student volunteers; coordinating the day-to-day use of music practice spaces; and supporting the management, maintenance, and organisation of our extensive collection of musical instruments and equipment.

Job Requirements

You will work collaboratively with students, academic and professional services staff, visiting performers, and external suppliers, following University processes and relevant health and safety requirements. A key part of the role will be helping to provide an outstanding experience for everyone engaging with music performance at Royal Holloway, whether as a performer, student, colleague, visitor, or audience member.

Job Responsibilities

You are likely to have experience of supporting live music, performance, events, venue operations, or arts activity, and may be looking to further develop a career in facilitating music performance. You will have a good practical understanding of musical ensembles, instruments, and PA systems, enabling you to support effective venue and ensemble set-ups and monitor the condition and appropriate use of equipment. You will also have strong communication, organisational, IT, and team-working skills, alongside a commitment to providing an excellent and welcoming service.
