Job Summary

Polyester is an independent arts and culture publication covering fashion, identity, popular culture and the internet through an intersectional feminist lens. This 200-hour paid placement offers hands-on experience in journalism, social media, events and editorial production.

Job Description

Interested in journalism, popular culture and intersectional feminism? This paid Editorial Intern placement with Polyester offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with one of the UK's leading independent arts and culture publications.

Polyester is a London-based print and online magazine that explores fashion, beauty, identity, internet culture and contemporary issues through an intersectional feminist lens. Known for its bold, colourful aesthetic and commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices, Polyester has built a dedicated community of readers and contributors since launching in 2014.

As an Editorial Intern, you'll gain practical experience across the day-to-day running of an independent publication. You'll work alongside experienced journalists and the wider Polyester team, developing skills in print and digital journalism, editorial production, social media, audio, events and commercial partnerships.

During the placement, you'll support editorial administration, upload content to the website, assist with transcription, create social media assets, help coordinate photoshoots and contribute to the smooth running of Polyester's editorial and membership platforms. You'll gain insight into every stage of the publishing process while building transferable skills for a career in media.

We're looking for someone who is curious, organised and enthusiastic about journalism, popular culture and intersectional feminism. You don't need extensive professional experience-just a willingness to learn, contribute ideas and work collaboratively as part of a small team.
