Job Summary
Job Description
The No 1 Sound Operator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all sound equipment and is responsible for creating and maintaining an accurate and appropriate sound image.
Job Requirements
The No 1 Sound Operator is responsible for operating the sound equipment for each performance as instructed by the Sound Designer, and where a live orchestra is in use, in consultation with the Musical Supervisor/Musical Director.
Attend production meetings, rehearsals, calls and performances as required.
Adhere to the Health and Safety guidelines of the Company.
Any other duties as may be reasonably required in the course of your duties or as instructed by the Producers from time to time.
Job Responsibilities
To attend all get-in, fit-up and get-outs as required.
To attend and operate sound equipment during the technical and dress rehearsals or at other times as required.
To prepare cue sheets.
To ensure all equipment is unpacked and prepared at each venue of the tour.
To co-ordinate and supervise the get-out of sound equipment at each venue, and to prepare equipment ready for loading at the end of the run.
To ensure that all equipment is maintained and in safe working order.
To run equipment checks prior to each performance.
To ensure that any orders for goods or equipment are made on an appropriate purchase order form and approved by the Producer.
To provide a carnet for the sound department for any overseas engagements if required.
