Job Description
The Great Christmas Feast is TLE's immersive adaptation of
Dickens's A Christmas Carol, and celebrates its 7th year in
production.
It's Christmas Eve, 1843 and Dickens is preparing his famous
annual feast at his home where this year he will give a special
reading of his new Christmas story to his nearest and dearest.
Scored for one performer and three musicians, TGCF is a
virtuosic, tour de force performance for our lead actor, David
Alwyn (returning to the role), as he brings to life the story
through storytelling, physical theatre, music and production
magic.
Rates: £770 per 8-show week + pension and holiday pay
£650 per rehearsal week + pension and holiday pay
Shows: Monday to Sunday, matinee and evening.
Job Requirements
The role requires an ability to work calmly and make good
decisions under pressure, as well as great people skills and
excellent time-keeping. It is well-suited to someone who has
held an LX1 or LX2 role in professional theatre or immersive
venues
Job Responsibilities
The LX2 role is responsible (alongside the LX1) for the smooth
operation and running of the LX department on the show. You
will be operating the performances from ETC Eos Family
consoles/systems, performing daily rig checks, and assisting with
regular reactive and planned maintenance of the LX system.
You will also deputise for the LX1 in their absence.
The rig includes a wide mix of fixtures, including moving lights,
as well as vintage and bespoke fixtures designed to light our one-
man show. Our space is also illuminated by a range of practicals
and, experience building and maintaining set-embedded units
would be an advantage.
