Job Description

The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager: Productions plays a key part in the effective functioning of the Production Finance team in providing support to the Productions department. Reporting to the Head of Production Finance, the role is responsible for monitoring the commercial outcome of productions and acts as a valuable advisor to senior stakeholders in reaching investment decisions. The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager: Productions works alongside the Head of Production Finance and the Senior Finance Manager: Productions to determine the appropriate technical accounting treatment for each production (e.g. level of control, consolidation, equity accounting etc.). The role combines this with timely and data informed forecasts to understand the impact on group EBITDA.

The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager provides insights across the production's lifespan including assisting with financial modelling for new proposals, tracking advance sales against expectations and reforecasting over the lifetime of each production. The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager: Productions will develop new tools and data collection methods in order to ensure all analysis is robust and based on best information and sales patterns. The role holder will embrace technology and work with peers across the organisation to maximise automation of reporting so that focus can be given to adding value. The role holder will become a trusted advisor for productions and marketing colleagues in providing commercial insights.

Job Requirements

You will be a qualified accountant and able to assist with considering the appropriate accounting treatment for production profits and losses.

You will have experience within a theatre/ production environment and using data analysis to inform decision making. You will be comfortable managing large and complex data sets and creating/ maintaining forecasting tools. You will have experience of sharing sales analysis with senior stakeholders and feel comfortable presenting findings both verbally and in writing.

You will have experience of working alongside non-finance colleagues to ensure that a mix of experience and perspectives can be incorporated into reports.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and maintain data collection and forecasting tools for the production finance department.
Lead on the creation and maintenance of high quality and insightful daily, weekly and monthly sales reports that give senior stakeholders a snapshot of the financial health of each production.
Work with finance and non-finance colleagues to maintain an overall picture of each production and ensure this is incorporated into reporting.
Present as needed to senior stakeholders regarding production forecasts.
Contribute to the technical accounting assessment of each production in terms of level of control and the associated impact on consolidation, equity accounting etc.
Contribute to the annual budgeting process and subsequent formal and informal reforecasts.
Contribute to the annual audit process regarding production forecasts.
